Haynes Cave

nsslogo.gifMonroe County, WV - Six members gathered up remains of old fencing (wire, etc.) around Haynes Cave entrance, and moved it to a convenient location for later pickup and disposal.  They entered the cave to tackle graffiti removal.  There were two types - superficial (crayon / spray paint / carbide) and engraved (letters, etc. cut into dust-covered calcite or gypsum).  They used wire bushes for the most part on the superficial scrubbing, and a mixture of dirt / dust / mud to fill in the etchings.
