We are a non-profit corporation chartered in West Virginia in 1997. We are recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.
Our mission is to preserve, and maintain access to, the cave and karst resources of West Virginia and Virginia for future generations.
We work with people in numerous, positive ways in order to work toward our mission. A few examples are listed below:
- We can provide general information about some problems and solutions associated with cave areas.
- Depending on location, we may be able to provide specific information about underground passage location and water flow.
- We have conducted clean-up projects, removing and properly disposing of large trash dumps from cave entrances and sinkholes at no cost to the property owners.
- We provide education through our website and through such projects as storm-drain markers.
- We provide management information and services for caves and other significant karst features.
- We own 5 cave entrances, and manage 3 other cave entrances for the owners.
